Skiing Concludes Competition at Dartmouth Carnival

Sophomore Nina Armstrong, along with teammates Hannah Hardenbergh and Rachel Hampton, placed seventh in the women's 3X5K FS relay (Gil Talbot).

HANOVER, N.H.
– Harvard skiing finished action at the Dartmouth Carnival after competing Friday and Saturday in Hanover, New Hampshire. The Crimson earned 10th amongst the 15th-team field.

The trio of senior Rachel Hampton and sophomores Hannah Hardenbergh and Nina Armstrong placed seventh overall in the women's 3X5K FS relay, combining for a time of 44:05.4.

Junior Charlotte Cole, sophomore Lily Koffman and freshman Tegan Thorley also performed well in the relay, earning 18th with a combined time of 46:29.2.

In the men's 3X5K FS relay, seniors Ian Meyer and Devlin Shea, along with freshman William Rhatigan, turned in an eighth-place finish with a total time of 37:57.4.

The trio of juniors Connor Green and Haakon Sigurslid and freshman Mackinley Fitzpatrick recorded 18th overall in the relay, crossing in 39:14.3.

Hampton impressed in the women's 5K classic as well, leading the Crimson with a 15th-place finish at 16:14.0. She finished just 13 seconds away from a top-10 time. Hardenbergh notched 32nd at 16:48.9, and Thorley earned a 34th-place finish with a final time of 16:58.8. Armstrong crossed right behind Thorley in 35th (17:01.4).

For the men, Meyer led the way in the 10K classic with a final time of 29:41.4, good for 39th overall in the event. Rhatigan and Fitzpatrick were solid in the 10K as well, racing to 46th and 52nd, respectively.

For the women's alpine team, junior Kelly Steeves was the top performer with a final time of 2:17.29 for 47th overall in the giant slalom.

Harvard skiing returns to the slopes next weekend, Feb. 17-18, for the Middlebury Carnival in Middlebury, Vermont.
