HUNTINGTON, Vt. – Led by another top-10 finish by senior Akeo Maifeld-Carucci, Harvard skiing wrapped competition at the St. Michael's Carnival, held at Sleepy Hollow Inn and Smugglers' Notch Resort. Maifeld-Carucci clocked a time of 32:27.8 to finish ninth in the 10K classic race.
Sophomore Rachel Hampton continued to post top results, finishing 13th overall in the 5K with a time of 18:25.0. The team of Maile Sapp, Maifeld-Carucci, Hampton and Devlin Shea combined for a No. 13 spot in the 4x3 freestyle relay with a time of 40:18.2. Junior Annie Harvieux, freshman Connor Green, junior Hanna Barnes and sophomore Ian Meyer combined to place 19th in the event with a time of 41:12.6.
Sapp also posted a strong showing in the 5K, finishing in 19:13.9 to place 32nd. Teammates Barnes and Harvieux were not far behind, finishing 35th and 36th, respectively.
In the 10K, Green crossed the finish line in 34:42.0 to rank 42nd.
In the alpine race, Kelly Steeves finished 25th with a time of 57:32 in the giant slalom. Steeves also took home a 31st-place showing in the slalom. Junior Samantha Udolf posted a run of 2:01.15 to finish 34th.
Junior Simon Merryweather placed 30th in the slalom with a time of 1:53.66 to outpace his seed. Junior Dan Rittenhouse and sophomore James Stevenson were not far behind, finishing No. 36 and No. 37, respectively.
The Crimson heads to New Hampshire next weekend for the Dartmouth Carnival.
