EISA Carnival Season Begins This Weekend

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - The 2010 EISA Carnival
season kicks of this weekend. St. Lawrence University hosts
the first carnival in Lake Placid. In an Olympic year it is
fitting that that first Carnival takes place and Lake Placid- an
Olympic town.
The Nordic races take place Friday, January 15 and Saturday,
January 16 at Mt. Van Hovenberg. Friday the women race a 5km
classic and the men race a 10km classic on the Ladies 5km
Course. Saturday the women's race a 15km freestyle and the
men's race 20km freestyle. Both Saturday races are mass
starts and use the Biathlon Trails.
The alpine races take place Friday, January 15 and Saturday,
January 16 at Whiteface Mountain. On Friday both the women's and
men's Giant Slalom are on Thruway/ Drapers Drop. On Saturday
both women's and men's Slalom races are on Drapers Drop.
