Son of Ellen and Richard ... Earned a total of 12 varsity letters at Winthrop High School in cross country, nordic skiing and track & field ... Two-year captain in cross country and senior captain of track & field program ... Finished fifth at the state cross country championships in 2006 and was named all-state in 2007 while running for the Class C runner-ups ... Named All-Mountain Valley Conference in nordic skiing in 2008 for another state runner up ... Placed fifth in the state in the two-mile run in trakc & field in 2007 and 2008 and was the state record holder in the distance medley relay in 2007.
