Brandi Gordon, who was an assistant coach at Seattle University
and helped the University of Washington reach the College World
Series, joins the Harvard softball team as a coaching
assistant beginning with the 2009 season.
Gordon was an assistant coach for Seattle during the 2008
season. She worked with the team's slap hitters, coached outfield
defense and directed the Redhawks' conditioning program.
In 2007, Gordon was the director of softball operations and camp
coordinator at Washington, which finished in third place at the
2007 NCAA Women's College World Series. She has also coached many
camps and clinics and has worked as a private softball instructor.
Gordon was a four-year softball letterwinner at the University
of the Pacific from 2002 to 2005. She was a catcher her first two
years at Pacific but then made a successful move to the outfield
for her junior and senior seasons.
In her senior year, she Gordon was a second-team All-Big West
selection as well as a third-team ESPN The Magazine
Academic All-America pick.
A native of Redmond, Wash., Gordon attended Redmond High School
and was a multi-sport letterwinner in volleyball, basketball, and
softball. She graduated from the University of the Pacific with a
sports sciences degree and a teaching credential in physical
education.
