CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2012 Ivy League champion Harvard softball team received its Ivy Championship rings in a ceremony held Sunday in the Murr Center lounge. Past and present team members, as well and friends, parents and support staff were in attendance.
Head coach Jenny Allard gave some remarks, as did Friends Group chair and former player Katina Lee ’97, before the group viewed a pair of highlight videos, documenting the 2012 season. Rachel Brown ’12 read her senior essay that was published in the 2012 senior letterwinner’s dinner booklet, and then the rings were presented to the players.
The Crimson captured its second straight Ivy League title in 2012, sweeping Penn in the Ivy Championship Series, held at Soldiers Field for the second year in a row. Harvard went on to make history at the NCAA Seattle Regional, posting a 2-2 record on the weekend and reaching the regional final for the first time in program history.
