Sailing Earns Second-Place Finish at Geiger Trophy Team Race

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard sailing team competed at the Ike Geiger Trophy Team Race hosted by MIT this weekend, securing a second-place finish with a 9-2 overall record.
 
Skippers including Nick Sertl, Dylan Farrell, Nick Karnovsky, Taylor Ladd and Nick DiGiovanni, and crews of Nomin-Erdene Jagdagdorj, Julia Lord, Christine Gosioco, Kristin Anderson and Catherine Tang sailed in FJ vessels to finish behind Boston University, improving on its 10th-place finish a year ago. Harvard secured wins over Rhode Island, Northeastern MIT, Roger Williams and Vermont.
 
Harvard will split up to compete around the Boston area next weekend. The NEISA/MAISA Team Race will be hosted by Boston College on March 25. Boston University will host the Central Series II on March 25 and the Team Race Invitational March 26. Tufts will host the Duplin Trophy Women's Team Race March 25-26.
