MADISON, Wis.—The Harvard sailing team stands second after Day 1 of the ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship on Lake Mendota.
Through six races in each division, the Crimson has accumulated just 76 points to trail only leader Boston College. The Eagles have 58 points. Harvard stands four points ahead of third-place Georgetown and the rest of the field of 18 top teams from across the nation.
Harvard has used a consistent effort to find success despite not yet winning a race in the regatta. The B-division group of John Stokes, Michelle Konstadt and Quincy Bock finished in the top third of the field in five of Tuesday’s six races, including three top-three showings. They stand second in the division.
In the A division, Alan Palmer, Meghan Wareham and Winston Yan are fourth. They had four top-four finishes Tuesday.
The regatta resumes Wednesday morning and concludes Thursday.
