CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-The Harvard sailing team won the Michael Horn Trophy Team Race Saturday and Sunday on the Charles River.
The Crimson topped Vermont, two races to one, in the exciting championship round Sunday to take the top spot. That victory came after Harvard swept a pair of races from Bowdoin in its first elimination matchup. The Harvard squad was made up of the following pairs: Liz Powers with Marie Appel, Emily Lambert with Alexandra Jumper and Colin Santangelo with Sarah McCuskee.
Harvard posted the best record, 12-3, in the three round robins sailed Saturday to earn a bye Sunday, along with 11-4 Tufts. Tufts, however, suffered a pair of 2-0 losses Sunday.
The Crimson coed team returns to its home course for next weekend's Atlantic Coast Championships, while the Harvard women visit Brown for their ACC regatta.
