HANOVER, N.H.--The Harvard sailing team placed seventh at the women's Mrs. Hurst Bowl, the Crimson's top finish on a weekend in which it competed in four events.
Senior captain Liz Powers and sophomore Marie Appel paced Harvard with a second-place finish in the B division at the Mrs. Hurst Bowl, hosted by Dartmouth. The duo totaled 61 points to finish just five back of division-winner Brown. Racing in a field of 18 schools, they recorded seven straight top-five finishes including two runner-up showings.
Harvard also placed 12th in the Nevins Trophy at Kings Point, 14th in Central Series Two at Boston College and 18th in the Hatch Brown Trophy at MIT and Boston University.
The Crimson's top coed division finish for the weekend came in the B division at Kings Point, where junior Tedd Himler and senior Michelle Konstadt placed seventh with 109 points. They finished outside the top half of the 20-school field just twice, starting with five straight top-eight showings and finishing with two more.
