CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's water polo's Nikhil Suri was announced today as the Northeast Water Polo Defensive Player of the Week. This is Suri's first time winning the award this year, after being named to the Defensive Player honor roll last week. Sophomore Austin Sechrest and freshman Bruno Snow were named to the honor roll of Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Suri helped lead the No. 14 Crimson to a 10-8 victory this past Sunday over MIT, securing eight saves in the contest, bringing his season total to 56.
Sechrest earned five goals through two games this past weekend and now has 32 this season. Snow totaled one goal, three assists and five steals against MIT and No. 15 Brown. Snow has earned six goals, 30 assists and 13 assists this season.
The Crimson returns to action this weekend, hosting the Harvard Invite. Harvard plays Friday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. against Johns Hopkins and Saturday, Oct. 14 at 12:30 p.m. against Pomona-Pitzer. Harvard concludes the weekend with a Sunday contest against George Washington at 10:30 a.m. All games will air on the Ivy League Network.
