Harvard aims to repeat the success of last weekend's Princeton Invite during this weekend's Bison Invite.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 11 Harvard men's water polo team is set to compete this weekend at the Bison Invite hosted by Bucknell, against Salem International, No. 17 George Washington and Gannon. Harvard will play two games on Saturday, at 2:15 p.m. against the Tigers and 8:30 p.m. against the Colonials. The Crimson will conclude the weekend Sunday at 11:45 a.m. against the Golden Knights.

Last Time Out
Harvard is coming off a successful weekend at the Princeton Invite where the Crimson defeated No. 17 George Washington, Chapman and No. 18 Bucknell. With the weekend sweep, Harvard moves to 5-2 this season, and is 3-0 at neutral sites.

Scouting Harvard
Junior Nick Bunn and sophomore Austin Sechrest currently lead the Crimson offense with 15 goals apiece. Freshman Bruno Snow leads the way in steals, with 12, followed closely by freshman Dennis Blyashov and junior Nathan Ondracek who each have 11. In net, the Crimson has relied on goalkeepers Anthony Ridgley and Nikhil Suri this season. Ridgley has made 41 saves and Suri has secured 16.

Scouting Salem International
The Tigers have started their season 2-3, having most recently defeated Mercyhurst 13-6 last Sunday. Senior Djordje Stavrevki scored four goals and earned an assist in the victory. During the weekend, Salem International also defeated the University of Toronto, but fell to Lindenwood and Cerritos in exhibition games. Prior, the Tigers competed at the Navy Open, defeating Cal Southern but losing to Navy, Princeton and George Washington.  

Scouting George Washington
Harvard and George Washington played last weekend at Princeton's tournament. The Crimson defeated the Colonials, 14-8. The Colonials finished the tournament 1-3, defeating Iona but losing to UCLA, Harvard and Brown.

Scouting Gannon
The Golden Knights are currently 1-2 this season, having recently defeated Iona at the Navy Open on Sept. 3. Gannon also lost to Johns Hopkins and Fordham in the tournament.

The Friends of Harvard Water Polo Head Coach, Ted Minnis, enters his eighth season at the helm of Crimson water polo after completing his most successful season to date. Minnis became the winningest coach in Harvard men's water polo history when Harvard defeated Johns Hopkins in last year's Bruno Classic. He now boasts a total of 130 victories with the Crimson.

The Crimson finished 27-7 during the 2016 season, including the team's first NCAA tournament appearance, having earned a spot in the final four. Harvard went 7-3 in conference play and defeated Brown for the team's first NWPC Championship title.

Harvard travels to Princeton to face the Tigers on Sept. 30. The game is at 7 p.m. and will air on the Ivy League Network.
