CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –Two members of the men's water polo team have earned weekly awards from the Collegiate Water Polo Association, the league announced Wednesday. Sophomore Noah Harrison was named Player of the Week while Dan Stevens picked up his second Rookie of the Week honor.
Harrison has now won four player of the week awards and Stevens has racked up two.
The top-seeded Crimson hosted the CWPA Northern Division Championships Nov. 9-10 at Blodgett Pool where the squad defeated MIT before falling to then No. 18 St. Francis to take second place to qualify for the CWPA Championships for the third straight season.
Harrison paced the Crimson offense to its first CWPA Northern Division championship game since 2007 when he netted three goals and tallied three steals in the 9-6 win over MIT. It marks Harrison's 11th hat trick of the season. The sophomore contributed one goal and an assist in the championship game against St. Francis.
Stevens netted a goal in each of the Crimson's games to run his scoring streak to the last five games. In the win over MIT, Stevens tallied two steals before recording a season-high four steals against St. Francis in the final game.
Harvard will head to the CWPA Championships Nov. 22-24 at Brown as the third seed. The Crimson will face the winner of Princeton and Iona.
