CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Noah Harrison, Colin Woolway and Joey Colton took home the Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division weekly awards, the league announced Wednesday. Harrison earned Player of the Week honors, Woolway was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week and Colton was named Rookie of the Week.
No. 17 Harvard has now tallied 10 CWPA weekly awards and swept the awards twice this season.
The team took on Brown for the third time this season Friday night and the Crimson downed the Bears, 12-10 to extend its win streak to six. This is the first time the Crimson has defeated Brown more than once in a season since 2004. Harvard is now 9-8 overall and currently sits atop the CWPA Northern Division standings with a 7-1 conference record.
Harrison led the Crimson with his second hat trick of the season while dishing out three helpers in the win. The Huntington Beach, Calif., native continues to lead the team in scoring with 35 goals and 37 steals. This is the third time the sophomore has been recognized as player of the week.
Woolway, who earns his fourth defensive player of the week accolade, anchored the defense during the win over Brown. The sophomore made eight saves during the contest while adding one assist and one steal. The La Jolla, Calif., native has now recorded 100 saves through 17 games this season.
Colton contributed all over the pool Friday night. Colton registered his second career hat trick and added four helps to lead the offensive charge. The rookie was also a catalyst on defense, making two steals. The Garden Grove, Calif., native ranks fourth in goals with 24 scores.
The Crimson takes on crosstown rival MIT Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. before traveling down to the Ivy League Championships at Penn on Oct. 19.
