Men's Water Polo Releases 2013 Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2013 Harvard men's water polo schedule, which features six home games, including four that will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network, has been released. The Crimson plays tournaments at Brown, Princeton and Santa Clara, along with its usual CWPA schedule and the Ivy Championships in preparation for the CWPA Northern and Eastern tournaments.
Led by Ted Minnis, The Friends of Harvard Water Polo Head Coach, Harvard will play on the road for the first three weekends of the season starting September 7. The Crimson go to Brown for the Bruno Fall Classic Sept. 7-8, travel to Princeton, N.J. for the Princeton Invitational Sept. 14-15 and play three games in New York Sept. 21-22. The Crimson sees St. Francis, Stanford and Brown on the first day of the season (Sept. 7) in Providence, R.I., and follows up with Washington and Jefferson and UC Irvine on the secon day. Harvard matches up with CWPA foes Fordham (Sept. 21), Iona (Sept. 21) and St. Francis (Sept. 22) during the New York trip.
The Crimson opens at Blodgett Pool the next weekend with games against Connecticut College (Sept. 28), Brown (Sept. 28) and MIT (Sept. 29). All three games will be streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network and the MIT game is designated as the annual Student Rewards Game. Three single games on the road follow at Connecticut College (Oct. 5), Brown (Oct. 11) and MIT (Oct. 16), before the Ivy Championships Oct. 19-20.
The Bronco Invitational in Santa Clara, Calif., Oct. 25-27 will be the site of Harvard's annual California trip. The tournament's field and schedule are yet to be determined.
Harvard returns home Nov. 2-3 for three more CWPA games. St. Francis (Nov. 2), Iona (Nov. 2) and Fordham (Nov. 3) all will visit Cambridge. The Fordham game will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
The CWPA Northern Division Championship is slated for November 9-10 at Harvard, while the league's 12-team CWPA Eastern Championship is scheduled for November 22-24 in Providence, R.I.
The Crimson will look to improve on last year's 15-19 record. Harvard finished fourth in the Northern tournament and seventh at the Eastern championship event.
