Voith Named CWPA Player of the Week, Honor Roll for Defensive POW

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior co-captain Bret Voith
totaled eight goals, seven assists and six steals during the
Crimson's five-game weekend road trip to California to garner
Collegiate Water Polo Association Player of the Week honors for
Oct. 13. Voith was also named to the CWPA Honor Roll for CWPA
Devensive Player of the Week behind Fordham's Christian
Flessner.
Voith, who hails from Coral Gables, Fla., scored mulitple goals in
three of Harvard's five games, including three goals and three
assists against No. 18 Pomona-Pitzer in the Sagehens' home pool. He
notched three takeaways in Harvard's 12-8 win over Occidental
College and had two goals in Harvard's 12-8 against Occidental and
the Crimson's 21-2 win against Caltech.
Voith received recognition for his defensive efforts as well, getting named to the CWPA Honor Roll for Defensive Player of the Week after tallying six takeaways over the weekend. Voith had a weekend-high three steals against Occidental and grabbed two more against Claremont Convergence Tournament host Claremont-Mudd Scripps.
The player of the week award is Voith's second of 2010 after being named Harvard COOP Athlete of the Week Sept. 14.
