Babic, Voith Named Men's Water Polo Captains

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore Luka Babic and
junior Bret Voith of the Harvard men’s water polo team have
been selected as captains for the 2010 season, head coach Erik
Farrar announced today. Voith, a co-captain of the Crimson in 2009,
joins Rick Offsay ’05 and Mike Garcia ’07 has recent
Harvard graduates to captain the team for multiple seasons.
Babic, who hails from Belgrade, Serbia, netted 16 goals as during
his sophomore season. He scored a pair of goals in four games this
fall, including two against Fordham at the ECAC Championships Sept.
19. Harvard’s Rookie of the Year in 2008, Babic tallied 11
goals as a freshman.
Voith, a native of Coral Gables, Fla., was named to the
All-Northern Division first team after scoring 27 goals, which
ranked third on the Crimson. Voith netted multiple goals in seven
games this fall, notching a season-high four against Queens (N.Y.)
at the Northern Division Championships Nov. 8. He is a two-time
CWPA All-Scholar Athlete and ACWPC All-Academic team honoree as
well.
