Men's Water Polo Announces Schedule for Upcoming Fall Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2009 schedule for the Harvard
men’s water polo team has been released by head coach Erik
Farrar. The Crimson is slated to play eight dual regular-season
games and compete in four tournaments, including the MIT
Invitational, the Princeton Invitational, the ECAC Championship and
the Claremont Convergence.
After opening with a home exhibition against Metro-Boston Sept. 4,
the Crimson will play four games at the MIT Invitational Sept. 5-6
and four other contests at the Princeton Invitational Sept. 12-13.
Harvard will then face MIT in its first regular season home game of
the season Sept. 17. A day later, the Crimson heads to Princeton,
N.J., for the two-day ECAC Championship.
On Sept. 26, Harvard visits Queens (N.Y.) before flying to
California for the Claremont Convergence Oct. 1-2. The team will
have six days off before resuming action with a five-game homestand
beginning with Connecticut College Oct. 8. Harvard will also
welcome Brown Oct. 10, Iona Oct. 11, Fordham Oct. 17 and St.
Francis (N.Y.) Oct. 24. The team closes out the regular season with
a quick trip to MIT Oct. 25.
Harvard will host the Northern Division Championships at Blodgett
Pool Nov. 8-9 and will look to earn a berth at the Eastern
Championships, scheduled for Nov. 20-22 at MIT.
Last fall, the Crimson finished fourth in the Northern Division
with a 3-4 record and boasted an overall mark of 5-12. Harvard
placed sixth at the Northern Division Championships.
