Harvard Earns 15 Selections to CWPA Men's Scholar-Athlete Team
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo
Association has announced that 257 student-athletes from the fall
men's season have been named to the 2008 CWPA Men's Scholar-Athlete
Team. Harvard placed an impressive 15 student-athletes to the list
including seven underclassmen.
Senior co-captains Jay Connolly and David Tune, juniors Egen
Atkinson, Thomas Bailey, Nikhil Balaraman, Mitch Denti, Dan Furman
and Sean Mitchell sophomores John Kolb, Jeff Lee, Alex Thompson and
Bret Voith and freshman Kevin DiSilvestro, Mike Katzer and
Alexandre Popp earned academic recognition.
The Scholar-Athlete Team was comprised of all varsity
student-athletes who competed during the fall season and
accumulated a 3.2 or higher cumulative grade-point average.
Student-athletes were recognized in three levels: 3.2 to 3.4
(Excellent), 3.41 to 3.7 (Superior) and 3.71 to 4.0 (Outstanding).
For the Crimson, 11 of its 15 honorees recorded performances of
Superior or better as the team posted a cumulative 3.33 GPA.
