CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard men's volleyball team downed Alderson Broaddus in four sets on Saturday night at the Malkin Athletic Center. The win came with set scores of 25-21, 20-25, 25-21 and 25-17.
Riley Moore led the Crimson (2-3, 0-0 EIVA) with 13 kills, with support from Erik Johnsson who tallied nine kills. Matthew Ctvrtlik also assisted the Crimson with 44 helpers and Trevor Dow registered four blocks.
The Crimson were off to a strong start after a 10-6run in the first set, however, the Battlers fought back, coming within two points 15-17, until three consecutive errors from Alderseon Broaddus gave the Crimson the set point.
The second set started off with a 14-11 run from the Battlers, Harvard was able to come within one point at 16-17, but an attack error from the Crimson gave Alderson Broaddus a 25-20 win.Harvard was limited to a .034 hitting percentage in the second set.
The first 34 points of the third set were neck and neck between the Crimson and the Battlers, until a block from Dow, Johnsson and White gave Harvard the advantage. The Battlers recorded two more points, coming within one, at 20-21, but consecutive kills from Johnsson and Ctvrtlik gave Harvard the third set.
The Crimson anchored an 14-9 lead in the fourth set. Fort Wayne battled back to come within three points 13-17, but the Crimson would not let them adhere any closer. Moore, Johnsson and Ctvrtlik tallied one kill apiece in the final stretch, Harvard would go on to win the set, 25-17.

The Crimson will conclude their five-game home stretch by hosting George Mason on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 12 at 4 p.m.
