CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's volleyball head coach Brian Baise has announced the team's schedule for the upcoming season includes 26 matches, 11 of which will be held at the Malkin Athletic Center.
Harvard starts the season on the road against Lewis College and Loyola (Ill.) before returning to Cambridge for the home opener on January 23 against Ball State. The Crimson will also face IPFW (Jan. 24), Emmanuel (Jan. 30), Alderson Broaddus (Jan. 31) and MIT (Feb. 3) as part of the five-match homestand.
Harvard kicks off the EIVA slate on the road against Sacred Heart on February 6 in the first of three consecutive conference matches away from the MAC. The team will travel to New Jersey to face Princeton and NJIT the subsequent weekend.
Returning to non-conference play, Harvard will travel to Springfield, Massachusetts to take part in the Hall of Fame Classic on February 20 and 21. The first opponent in the tournament will be Concordia-Irvine, with a match against the either Springfield or Rivier to follow the ensuing day. The Crimson will also take on Coker College in a single match on February 23.
Returning to conference play after, the Crimson is set to host Saint Francis and Penn State on February 27 and 28, respectively.
In a second hiatus from EIVA action, Harvard hosts Springfield College for a single match on March 11 before heading to the west coast to take part in the Active Ankle Classic. The Crimson will play two contests in the tournament, starting against host Long Beach State and finishing with California State-Northridge. Before returning from California, the Crimson will also meet Pepperdine to finish the non-conference schedule.
Harvard will wrap up the regular season with seven matches against EIVA opponents, including a home-and-home with George Mason. The Crimson will travel to Penn State and Saint Francis April 10-11, and host Princeton and NJIT April 3-4. Harvard concludes the regular season with a home match against Sacred Heart on April 25.
The Crimson returns to the court in 2015 after posting a 15-8 record last season and earning a berth into the EIVA Tournament. Eight letterwinners return from the 2014 squad, including All-American's DJ White and Caleb Zimmick.
