AVCA Division I-II Men’s Poll

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team entered the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s Division I-II men’s weekly poll at a program-best 13th after knocking off two ranked opponents last weekend to open its 2014 campaign.

Harvard, which reached as high as No. 14 in the nation last season, kicked off its 34th season at the 50th Asics Invitational hosted by UC Santa Barbara where it finished second.  The Crimson advanced to the championship match where it fell, 3-1, to then No. 4 Long Beach State by posting a 3-1 record in pool play. The three wins featured straight set victories over then No. 5 Stanford and No. 8 UCSB.

Harvard returns to the court Jan. 8-9 when it travels to Quebec City for two matches against Canadian foe Laval.
