CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Kyle Rehkemper of the Harvard men's volleyball team has earned EIVA Defensive Player of the week honors after pacing the Crimson's defense in its EIVA opening win over Sacred Heart the conference announced this afternoon.
Rehkemper helped Crimson sweep the Pioneers in its second straight meeting by leading Harvard at the net with 2.00 bps. The Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., native also contributed to Harvard's offensive efforts with 1.00 kps and 2.50 points per set while hitting .333 in the conference opener.
The award marks the third of Rehkemper's career and first of the year. The weekly award is the second EIVA honor taken home by the Crimson this season with DJ White earning defensive player of the week nods for the week ending Jan. 25.
Rehkemper and the Crimson return to action Thursday, Feb. 13 when Princeton ventures to Cambridge for a 7 p.m. match.
