White has earned two career EIVA Offensive Player of the Week honors (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After leading the Harvard men's volleyball team to a pair of sweeps to open the season, officials have announced that sophomore DJ White has been named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week.
White turned in dominant performance on Friday at Stevens, scoring 19 kills on just 29 attempts with only three errors for a .552 hitting percentage. The 19 kills were one short of his career as he hit better than .500 for just the fourth time in his career. White returned to the court Saturday at NYU to post nine kills, seven digs and four total blocks.
For the weekend White averaged 4.67 kps, 1.67 dps and 1.00 bps while hitting .420. He currently leads the EIVA in kills and ranks third in hitting percentage.
White, an All-EIVA first team selection in 2012 and a member of the United States Men's Junior National Team which won gold at the 2012 NORCECA Men's Junior Continental Championship (U-21), was also named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week once last year.
Harvard will begin conference play this weekend as it travels to St. Francis (Pa.) on Friday, Jan. 25 and Penn State on Saturday, Jan. 26.
