    DJ White Selected to the 2012 U.S. Men's Junior Training Team Roster Freshman DJ White of the Harvard men’s volleyball team has been selected to join the 2012 U.S. men’s junior training team roster for the right to compete NORCECA Men’s Under-21 Continental Championship, which will be Aug. 27-Sept. 1, at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. White is one of 19 invitees to the national roster.

Senior Matt Jones led the Crimson attack with 14 kills in the losing effort.

    Will Chambers Named to the EIVA All-Academic Team Sophomore Will Chambers was the latest in the parade of Crimson men’s volleyball players to be honored this week, as the native of Honolulu, Hawaii was named to the EIVA All-Academic list. Chambers, who is currently studying physics, was one of 10 players to receive the award.

    Head Coach Brian Baise Named EIVA Coach of the Year; Jones, White and Lothman Earn All-Conference Honors In what has been one of its most successful seasons in program history, the No. 15 Harvard men’s volleyball team had even more reason to celebrate on Monday afternoon as head coach Brian Baise was named Bob Sweeney EIVA coach of the year, while senior Matt Jones, freshman DJ White and junior Rob Lothman all earned EIVA All-Conference honors. Jones and White were named first team all conference while Lothman was named to the second team.

The No. 15 Harvard men’s volleyball team ended its regular season on a high note by defeating Rutgers-Newark, 3-1, and inching closer to wrapping up the No. 2 seed for the EIVA tournament. Senior Matt Jones led the way for the Crimson tallying 18 kills and 10 blocks, recording a double-double on Saturday night, helping the team to improve to 18-5 (10-4 in the EIVA).

Senior Matt Jones and freshman DJ White combined for 28 kills to spark the Crimson offense but were unable to get the best of the Highlanders.

    No. 15 Harvard Men’s Volleyball Ranked in AVCA Poll for the First Time in Program History In what has been arguably Harvard men’s volleyball’s most successful season, the Crimson received even more recognition for its hard work as it was featured as the No. 15 ranked team according the American Volleyball Coaches Association weekly poll. Harvard, which has been receiving votes since its California road trip several weeks ago, finally cracked the rankings, getting 26 points, four votes behind No. 14 Loyola-Chicago. This is the first time in the program’s history that it’s been included in the national poll.

Harvard benefited from the firepower of Sophomore Nick Madden who tallied a career-high 27 kills for the Crimson.

This week it was freshman DJ White who receives the honor after his 16 kill, 11 dig perforamance against No. 12 Cal State Northridge on Saturday, helping Harvard to a 3-1 win. The win is first victory over a ranked opponent under head coach Brian Baise.

Three Crimson players had over 10 kills to help Harvard to its 12th win of the season improving 12-2 for the season.

The La Jolla, Calif., native helped lead Harvard to a pair of hard fought wins this past weekend, helping the Crimson defeat George Mason and Princeton in five sets.
