CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s volleyball team announced its 2011 schedule Monday afternoon. The Crimson will compete in 22 matches this upcoming season, hosting 12 at its home court at the Malkin Athletic Center.
Harvard begins its 2011 slate with a seven-match homestand, welcoming a wide variety of opponents during that stretch, from the season-opener against Newbury on Jan. 25 to Cal Baptist on Feb. 3. Harvard hits the road for the first time Feb. 18 and 19 as it travels to Saint Francis and Juniata, respectively.
The Crimson returns home to face Sacred Heart Feb. 26 and squares off against Juniata (March 4) and Princeton (March 5) before heading west for a spring break trip to California. In the Golden State, Harvard will face Cal State Northridge (March 12), Pepperdine (March 15) and USC (March 16) before rounding out the month of March back east at Springfield (March 23), vs. NYU (March 25) and at Newbury (March 31). Harvard kicks off April with four straight road games before wrapping up the regular season at home against NJIT April 16.
Harvard ended last season with a 5-16 overall record but a 3-5 mark in conference play, good for a third-place finish in the EIVA Hay Division standings.
