Men's Volleyball Continues Winning Streak, Defeats Newbury, 3-1

BROOKLINE, Mass. - The Harvard men's volleyball
team posted their third consecutive victory Thursday night with a
3-1 win over Newbury College (30-20, 30-25, 27-30, 30-22). With the
win, the Crimson moves to 5-12 on the season.
Senior Erik Kuld continued to provide consistent offense for
Harvard, with 27 kills. He also tallied a match-high 14 digs.
Sophomore Matt Jones recorded 22 kills on the night.
The third set proved to be very close, as there were 18 ties and
six lead changes. Late in the set, the Crimson held a 25-22
advantage over the home team, but the Nighthawks went on an 8-2
run, that included five blocks, to claim a 30-27 victory and force
a fourth set.
After falling behind 4-1 early in the fourth set, the Crimson took
control and tied the score at 9-9. Harvard continued to stifle the
home team, and Jones posted a set-high five kills to lead the
Crimson to a 30-22 set win.
Freshman Rob Lothman handed out 51 assists on the night while
senior Soren Rosier posted four blocks.
Harvard travels Rutgers-Newark for a pivotal EIVA Hay Division
match Friday, April 9.
