Mens Volleyball 2010 Schedule Released
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Harvard men’s
volleyball team has 21 matches scheduled for the 2010 season, with
13 non-conference dates and eight Eastern Intercollegiate
Volleyball Association Hay Division matches. The Crimson will host
nine matches at the Malkin Athletic Center and travel to 12
opponents, including three straight to open the season, before the
EIVA tournament at the end of April.
The season opens with a trip to Pennsylvania to take on Juniata and
St. Francis Jan. 23 and 24. The road stretch continues to Beverly,
Mass. where the Crimson will play Endicott Jan. 29.
In the month of February, five out of the six matches the Crimson
plays will be held in Cambridge, with four at home and one at
crosstown rival MIT. During the homestand, Harvard will host Baruch
(Feb. 4), Princeton (Feb. 13), UC Santa Barbara (Feb 25) and Hay
opponent Rutgers-Newark (Feb. 27). The one match outside of
Cambridge is in Nashua, N.H., at Rivier, Feb. 10.
Both conference and non-conference play continue in March,
beginning with a trip to take on Stevens Institute (March 5) and
NJIT (March 6). Harvard hosts Springfield March 9 before breaking
for 10 days for midterms.
Following exams, Harvard hits the road to play Sacred Heart (March
20) and Springfield (March 23). The Crimson returns to the Malkin
Athletic Center to host NYU (March 27) and Emmanuel (March 30).
Harvard will play the next three matches away as it faces Newbury
(April 1), Rutgers-Newark and NYU (both April 9).
Harvard will host Sacred Heart and NJIT, April 16 and 17, to wrap
up the regular season. The Crimson will compete at the EIVA
tournament April 24-May 1 to close out the season.
The Crimson closed out the 2009 season with an 11-8 overall record,
including a 6-2 mark in conference play to tie with Rutgers-Newark
for the division title.
