CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Harvard men's tennis improved to 18-2 and 2-1 in conference play after defeating Penn 6-1 at the Beren Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson went 3-0 in doubles action while and 5-1 in singles play to secure the win.
All three Harvard doubles pairings recorded wins during the match, as sophomore Casey MacMaster and senior Alistair Felton downed Mark Milbrandt and Nikola Kocovic, 8-1 while sophomore Christo Schultz and senior Jon Pearlman took care of Rob Wong and Jason Lin, 8-5. The team of freshman Denis Nguyen and junior Andy Nguyen completed the doubles sweep by defeating Jeremy Court and Zach Katz, 8-4.
In singles action Pearlman defeated Kokovic, 6-3, 6-1, form the No. 1 position. Denis Nguyen secured a win in the No. 2 spot defeating Phil Law, 1-6, 6-3, 1-0. The freshmen in the No. 4-6 spots all tallied victories as Shaun Chaudhuri beat Rob Wong, 6-3, 6-2, Alex Steinroeder took down Zach Katz, 6-0, 7-6 while Henry Steer defeated Jason Lin 6-2, 7-6 (7).
Harvard wraps up its two-match weekend when it faces Princeton tomorrow afternoon at the Beren Tennis Center. The Match is slated for 2 p.m.
