Jon Pearlman to Compete at ITA Tennis All-American Championships

 CAMBRDIGE, Mass. – Jonathan Pearlman, of the Harvard men's tennis team, will compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships Oct. 6-9. Pearlman was selected as one of 48 competitors in the main draw, bypassing the pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds.

When the tournament gets underway on Thursday, Pearlman will be one of 64 entrants in a singles field, which according to the ITA preseason rankings, has 42 participants ranked amongst the top 50 players headed into the season. Pearlman ranked outside the top-50, landing at number 78 in singles competition on the preseason chart.

The Palm Beach, Fla., native enters the All-American Championships with a misleading stat line, standing at an 0-3 singles record following the Harvard Chowder Fest last weekend. While not earning a victory in three matches, Pearlman battled several of the country's top performers in Daniel Nguyen from USC, Alexis Klegou of Texas A&M and Evan King of Michigan.

Pearlman solidified himself in the number one slot for the Crimson last season, going 11-11 from that position in 2010-11, and 19-17 overall, good enough for most wins on the last years' Crimson squad.
