BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- The Harvard men's tennis team fell to No. 50 Indiana, 6-1, to wrap up its trip to the Hoosier State. The Crimson moves to 4-4 on the year while the Hoosiers improve to 4-1.
Junior Aba Omodele-Lucien and freshman Christo Schultz partnered to even the doubles score at 1-1 with a 9-7 win at the No. 1 position. The Hoosiers responded by winning the No. 2 doubles match to claim the doubles point.
Freshman Andy Nguyen picked up Harvard's lone point with a 6-3, 7-6 victory at the No. 6 slot. Junior Alexei Chijoff-Evans fell in three sets at the top position. After dropping the first set, Chijoff-Evans bounced back to tie the score at 1-1. In the third and deciding set, the match went all the way to a tiebreaker but Indiana's Santiago Gruter prevailed. Omodele-Lucien also took his match at the No. 3 spot to three sets. The Hoosiers' Josh MacTaggart took the first set 6-3 and Omodele-Lucien rebounded to take the second set 7-5 but couldn't close out the match, falling in the third set 6-3.
The Crimson returns to the Murr Center Tennis Courts to take on Boston College, Feb. 26, and St. John's, Feb. 27.
