Crimson Earns 17 Wins at Harvard Fall Classic

CAMBIRDGE, Mass. - The Harvard Fall Classic
kicked off Friday morning at the Robert M. Beren ’47 Tennis
Center. Along with the Crimson, Alabama, Minnesota and Notre Dame
competed in the three-day long event. Harvard racked up 17 wins
over the weekend.
Harvard’s Andy Nguyen took the Corey Winn Freshman Player to
Watch Award by posting a 3-0 record in singles play. Nguyen
defeated Notre Dame’s David Anderson, Minnesota’s
Brendan Ruddock and Michael Thompson from Alabama.
The Crimson recorded 12 singles wins by eight different players
and five doubles wins by four different pairs. Nguyen led the host
with three singles wins. Sophomore Alistair Felton and junior Aba
Omodele-Lucien won two matches each. The team of senior captain
Michael Hayes and sophomore Davis Mangham picked up a pair of
doubles wins on the weekend.
Harvard returns to action for the ITA Northeast Regionals at
Hanover, N.H., Oct. 16-18.
