Keith Miller is in his 18th season as a member of the Harvard
coaching staff in 2009-10. He coaches both the men's and women's
programs and has led each to great success during his tenure.
At least one of Miller's pupils has won a league diving title
from 2003-07. Lucas Sanders '08 was the most recent champion,
winning the men's one-meter at the 2007 Eastern Intercollegiate
Swimming League Championships. On the women's side, Samantha
Papadakis '08 placed second in in the NCAA Zone A one-meter to make
the NCAA Championships for the second straight year.
Miller coached Crimson divers to wins in three of the four
events at their respecive league championships in 2005-06. Danil
Rybalko '06 swept the diving events at the EISL Championships and
was Diver of the Meet. Alison Pipitone '08 shared Diver of the Meet
honors at the Ivy League Championships by winning the three-meter.
Papadakis was second in both dives at Ivies and won the NCAA Zone A
one-meter title at to advance to the NCAA Championships.
Greg Walker `01 twice represented Harvard at the NCAA
Championships. Craig Narveson `94, a three-time NCAA All-American,
placed 15th in the three-meter at the 1994 U.S. Indoor
Championships.
Harvard women have won Ivy diving titles three of the past four
seasons, with Annika Giesbrecht '07 and Papadakis preceding
Pipitone. Lara Jacobson `98 placed sixth on platform at the 1995
U.S. Indoor Nationals, qualifying for the US National Team. She
also placed 12th at the 1995 NCAAs as a freshman. Kara Miller `97
won the Eastern Championships in 1996 and qualified for the NCAA
Championships and Indoor and Outdoor Senior Nationals.
In addition to his work with Harvard's programs, Miller also has
significant experience at the national and international levels. He
was selected to coach at the 1994 and 1995 United States Olympic
Festivals and was a member of the U.S. national team staff from
1995 to 1997.
Miller coached the national team in Vienna and Rome in 1995 and
traveled with the team to Torneo de Clavados in Mexico in 1996, to
the World University Games in 1997, and to the Canada Cup in 1999.
Prior to his appointment at Harvard, Miller was the diving coach
at Wesleyan University (Conn.) and at UC-San Diego.
Miller is a 1982 graduate of Tufts University with a degree in
Spanish literature. He also serves as the coach of the Charles
River Diving club team. He lives in Waltham, Mass., with his wife,
Agnes, and children, Silvie, Tommy and Danny.
