YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Junior Mike Mosca of the Harvard men's swimming and diving team has been named to the Capital One Division I Academica All-America third team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday. Mosca becomes the fourth Academic All-American in men's swimming and diving program history.
A record-holding diver at Harvard, Mosca earned Honorable Mention All-America status for his 13th-place finish at the 2014 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in March. The Tenafly, N.J., native finished his junior season as the Ivy League Champion in both the one- and three-meter dives and the Karl B. Michael High Point Diver of the Meet.
Mosca's points on the boards for the Crimson helped Harvard claim the 2014 Ivy League Championship. Out of the pool Mosca and the Crimson owned the second-best grade point average among all NCAA swimming and diving teams in the country.
Through the fall semester, Mosca had a 3.83 grade point average in history and science.
