Trio of Harvard Swimmers Named CSCAA Scholar-Athlete All-Americans
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Former Crimson swimmer
Bill Jones ’09 has been selected to the College Swimming
Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar-Athlete All-America
team, while Dan Jones ’09 and rising junior Blake Lewkowitz
garnered CSCAA Scholar-Athlete honorable mention status.
The CSCAA chooses Scholar All-Americans on the basis of their
performances in the pool and classroom. To be selected to the
All-American team, swimmers must qualify for the NCAA Championship
meet and achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Honorable mention
selections, meanwhile, must achieve a NCAA consideration time and a
3.50 or higher GPA.
Bill Jones, a 16-time All-Ivy League selection, placed 28th in the
100 butterfly with a time of 47.11 at the 2009 NCAA
Championships.
Harvard also earned the Scholar All-American Team Award after
posting a cumulative GPA of 3.29, ranking the squad 11th in the
country.
