Hammond joined the coaching staff in September, 2011 and currently leads recruiting for both the men’s and women’s teams. In his first season, he helped lead the Crimson men to a 3rd place finish (best in five years) and the women to an IVY League title and National Championship. In his second season, he assisted in earning another National Championship for the women and a shared IVY title and second place national finish for the men.
Hammond joined the Crimson after three years at SquashBusters, an urban squash program in Boston. There, he guided his players to three Urban Team National Finals and one Urban Team National Championship. He helped found and coach the SquashBusters’ AP team, an elite tournament team for ambitious and promising players.
Hammond also coaches at several squash camps, including the International Squash Academy, Crimson Squash Camp at Harvard under Mike Way, Power Squash Academy with former world No. 1 Jonathan Power and Elm City Squash at Yale. He serves as Camp Director for the Squash Academy at Harvard along with former World No. 1 Thierry Lincou.
He is also an active member of the Mass. Squash Board.
As a college player, Hammond served as President and Captain of Kenyon College Squash. He oversaw all aspects of the emerging program including funding, scheduling, and practice planning. Hammond developed Kenyon's most competitive schedule ever.
A 2008 graduate of Kenyon, Hammond earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and environmental studies. He was a member of the lacrosse team at Kenyon where he helped the Lords to two NCAA tournament appearances.
