No. 2 Men’s Squash Edges No. 8 Cornell, 8-1, in Ivy League Battle

ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 2 men's squash team remained undefeated in Ivy League play, as the Crimson downed No. 8 Cornell, 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Ali Farag improved to 8-0 as he edged Nicholas Sachvie, 11-8, 11-9, 11-4 in the No. 1 position on the ladder. Senior co-captain Brandon McLaughlin bested Aditiya Japtap, 11-3, in the opening set before falling, 11-5, 11-4, 11-9 in the second spot.  McLaughlin is now 5-2 in the No. 2 position this season.  

Dylan Murray continued on and took down Bryan Keating (11-3, 5-11, 11-4, 11-9) in the third spot to move to 8-1 on the season. Nigel Koh followed suit and remained unbeaten in the fifth spot as he ousted Gustav Runersjo, 8-11, 11-6, 10-12, 11-4, 11-6. Bryan Koh took his match in four sets against Rishi Jalan, 11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 11-9.

Tom Mullaney, Tyler Olson and Matt Roberts each swept their opponents by a, 3-0, margin in the bottom of the ladder to help the Crimson secure its ninth win of the season.

Harvard continues Ivy League play tomorrow at Columbia.
