Squash Teams Announce 2013-14 Schedules

 The Harvard men's and women's squash teams have announced the 2013-14 schedule. Both teams will host six events and play six road matches during the regular season in preparation for the CSA Team and Individual Championships. 

The 2013-14 seasons get underway with three away matches starting at Dartmouth on Dec. 5. The Crimson will host Drexel and Western Ontario on Dec. 7 for its first home contests of the year. The teams will then take a break from competition until Jan. 7 when the squads hit the road to Williamstown, Mass., to face Williams.

Harvard then begins a three-game home stand. Princeton makes a trip to Cambridge on Jan. 11. Penn comes to the Murr Center on Jan. 12. Both Crimson teams will host St. Lawrence on Jan. 25 and the men's team will take on Rochester on Jan. 26

February starts with four consecutive highly competitive matches. Harvard visits the Empire State to take on Cornell on Feb. 1 and Columbia on Feb. 2 before heading to Connecticut where the Crimson will face Trinity on Feb. 4 and Yale on Feb. 7. The regular season wraps up when Brown comes to Cambridge on Feb. 9.

The men's team will look for its first national team championship since 1998 when the team hosts and competes at the CSA Team Championships Feb. 21-23.  Last season the men fell to Trinity in the championship match of the Potter Cup.  The men's season wraps up at the CSA Individual Championship, which will be held Feb. 28-March 2. Senior Ali Farag who won the CSA individual national championship in 2012 and reached the semi-finals in 2013 will be competing for his second title in three seasons.

The women's team will head to Princeton in search for its 15th title in program history and third consecutive national championship at the CSA Team Championships Feb. 21-23. The Crimson handed Trinity a 5-4 decision to claim the 2012 Howe Cup one season ago.  The squad will then compete in the CSA Individual Championships Feb. 28-March 2 where Crimson junior Amanda Sobhy will look to win her third straight Ramsay Cup. Junior Amanda Sobhy will look for her third individual title in three seasons. 

The men finished last season with a 17-3 overall record and its highest final ranking since placing second in 2004-05. The women's team ended the season with a 15-1 record and a No. 1 ranking after taking home the Howe Cup.
