Power Selected to the All-Ivy League Squash Team
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Freshman Gary Power has been selected to the 2011 Men’s Squash All-Ivy League team. Power joins eight other players on the squad that was released by the League office Thursday.
Power played to a 10-5 record as Harvard’s top player this season. He reached the round of 16 in the Pool division main draw and the consolation finals at the 2011 CSA Individual National Championship with a 3-2 record over the three-day tournament.
The Crimson was 9-6 during the 2010-11 campaign, while also garnering fifth place at the CSA National Team Championship with a thrilling victory over No. 5 Cornell. Power went 1-2 during that tournament with his two losses coming against Ivy League Player of the Year Todd Harrity from Princeton and Ivy League Rookie of the Year Nick Sachvie from Cornell.
