No. 5 Men's Squash Picks Up 7-2 Win Against No. 8 Western Ontario at CSA Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The fifth-ranked Harvard men's squash team earned a 7-2 victory against No. 8 Western Ontario in the consolation bracket of the College Squash Association national men's team championships Saturday evening.

The Crimson, which improves to 6-5 overall, will face No. 6 Cornell in the fifth-place match of the tournament Sunday at 3 p.m.

Harvard had four sweeps against Western Ontario, led by Colin West at the No. 1 position. West handled Brian Wong in three straight sets, 11-1, 11-5, 11-6.  At the No. 5 spot, Jason Michas had back-to-back 11-8 wins before topping Yeshale Chetty, 14-12, in overtime in the third game.  William Ahmed edged Tashlin Reddy, 12-10, in each of their first two games at the No. 8 slot. Ahmed then took game three, 11-5. 

Alexander Ma took care of Rafik Bhaloo, 11-4, 11-7, 11-7, in his win at the No. 9 position.  Richard Hill improved to 6-5 on the season at the No. 2 spot, as he outplayed Kimesh Chety, 11-5, 8-11, 11-5, 16-14.  Harvard also saw wins by J. Reed Endresen in five sets at the No. 5 position and Franklin Cohen at the No. 7 slot, respectively.  Endresen came back from a 2-1 deficit in games against Strachan Jarvis to win the final two games, 11-6 and 11-7.  Cohen and Joel Rothwell split the first two games before Cohen emerged with 11-3 and 11-4 showings in the third and fourth games to take the match.
