CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Two members of the Harvard men’s soccer team – sophomore forward Brian Rogers and sophomore defender Richard Smith – have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District second team, it was announced Wednesday.

Rogers, a native of Bronxville, N.Y., leads Harvard in scoring this season with four goals and nine points.  The 2009 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Rogers, who also earned all-conference second team honors last fall, has one game-winning tally this season and paces the Crimson with 35 shots.

Smith, an All-Ivy defender in 2009, has become a leader on Harvard’s back line during his sophomore season.  He has started all 15 games this fall and has helped the Crimson record three shutouts and post a team goals-against average of 1.20.
