CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s lacrosse team, which went 6-6 during the 2010 season, has been ranked 16th in the LaxNews preseason national poll, the publication announced Friday. The Crimson is the third highest ranked Ivy League school, trailing No. 5 Princeton and No. 7 Cornell. Yale appears at No. 21, while Brown stands at No. 24.
The Crimson will enter its first season under Chris Wojcik
'96, the Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men’s
Lacrosse. Harvard also welcomes the nation's ninth best recruiting
class, according to InsideLacrosse, for the upcoming
campaign.
During the 2010 campaign, the Crimson defeated Princeton for the
first time since 1990 and finished the season with a 4-2 record at
home. Harvard returns 35 players to the fold for 2011,
including senior attacker Dean Gibbons and junior midfielder Terry
White, who garnered All-Ivy League status last spring.
Gibbons and junior attacker Kevin Vaughan will serve as
co-captains for the upcoming season.
