Gibbons, White Earn NEILA All-New England Accolades

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior attacker Dean
Gibbons and sophomore midfielder Terry White have been honored on
the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA)
All-New England second team, it was announced Wednesday
afternoon.
Gibbons, who also earned a spot on the All-Ivy League second team
last week, paced Harvard’s offense with 41 points, six man-up
goals and 14 assists. Gibbon’s 41 points ranked second
in the Ivy League, while he also ranked second on the Crimson and
fifth in the Ancient Eight with 27 goals. A native of Garden
City, N.Y., Gibbons, who started all 12 games at attack, was 23rd
in the nation with 3.42 points per game, scoring multiple goals in
nine games. Gibbons, who was a NEILA Preseason All-New
England honoree, tallied a season-best five goals in the
Crimson’s 16-6 win over Canisius Feb. 27.
White, who was also tabbed to the All-Ivy League second team,
ranked fourth on the Crimson with 19 points, scoring 13 goals and
adding six assists. White, a Summit, N.J., product, earned a
spot on the Inside Lacrosse National Team of the Week
March 16, as he scored three goals and dished out an assist in
Harvard’s 14-13 victory at intrastate rival Massachusetts
March 13. He netted a season-best four goals against Ivy
League foe Brown March 20 and lifted Harvard to a win at local
rival Holy Cross March 6, as he scored the game-winner.
White, who played in all 12 games this spring, also collected 12
ground balls and caused four turnovers.
