Freshmen Louis Leblanc, Conor Morrison and Alex Fallstrom each found the back of the net with a goal, and goaltender Ryan Carroll stopped 24 shots, but the Harvard men’s hockey team fell in its upset bid at fifth-ranked Cornell, 6-3, Saturday evening at Lynah Rink.

Alex Killorn scored two goals and assisted on another, all in the second period, to lead the Harvard men’s hockey team to a 5-3 win against Dartmouth in both teams’ season opener Friday night at Thompson Arena. Kyle Richter made 41 saves to win in his return to the Crimson goal crease.

Louis Leblanc became the second Harvard player to be selected in the first round of the National Hockey League Entry Draft when he was taken by his hometown Montreal Canadiens Friday night at Bell Centre. While Stanley Cup winner Craig Adams ’99 had the most successful 2009 postseason of any Harvard alum playing pro hockey, he was just one of five former Crimson skaters to play in the National Hockey League this season.
