ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senior forward Alexander Kerfoot has been selected as one of the 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, as announced by the award's committee Wednesday, March 15.
Kerfoot, who is a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Player of Year Award, is leading the Crimson in points with a career-high 40. A first team All-Ivy selection and a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award, Kerfoot has led by example on and off the ice this season.
The West Vancouver, British Columbia native and New Jersey Devils prospect is among the nation's leaders in points per game, averaging 1.29 each time out. During conference play, Kerfoot recorded 26 points (10g, 16a), ranking fourth. A co-captain this season, Kerfoot has been clutch for the Crimson, scoring four game-winning goals, most on a team that has won 24 games, its highest total since 1993-94.
Kerfoot enters the final weekend of the ECAC playoffs with 118 points and 82 assists. His 82 helpers ranks him 12th all-time in Harvard history.
The Hobey Hat Trick will be announced on March 30 and the winner will be announced April 7 in Chicago during Frozen Four festivities.
