  • Incoming Freshmen Badini and Walsh Selected in NHL Draft

    The Harvard men’s hockey team was represented in Chicago at the 2017 NHL Draft over the weekend as a pair of incoming freshmen were selected in the third round. Forward Jack Badini was selected by the Anaheim Ducks and defenseman Reilly Walsh was nabbed by the New Jersey Devils.
  • Men’s Ice Hockey Announces the Class of 2021

    Coming off a year in which Harvard men’s hockey won the ECAC regular season and tournament championships, the Ivy League title, and secured a spot in the Frozen Four, the Crimson has announced eight new freshmen as the class of 2021.

    The Harvard men’s hockey team, coaches, staff and Friends of Harvard Hockey convened at the Harvard Club of Boston Tuesday night to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2016-17 season.
  • Crimson in the NHL Playoffs

    The Harvard men’s hockey program is well represented in the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs this year, as three former Crimson players are battling for the Stanley Cup in 2017. Jimmy Vesey ’16, Steve Michalek ’15 and Dominic Moore ’03 will all try to hoist the Cup as they play for their respective teams throughout the NHL postseason.
  • Moy, Madsen and Fox Sweep Final ECAC Hockey Monthly Awards

    Adding to a long list of postseason accolades, student-athletes from the Harvard men’s hockey team earned all three of the final monthly awards distributed by ECAC Hockey Thursday for March and April. Senior Tyler Moy was named Player of the Month, junior Merrick Madsen was tabbed Goaltender of the Month and freshman Adam Fox garnered Rookie of the Month recognition.

  • No. 2/2 Men’s Hockey Falls in Frozen Four to No. 3/3 Minnesota Duluth, 2-1

    The No. 2/2 Harvard men’s hockey team had its national title hopes dashed in the final minute of its Frozen Four semifinal matchup against No. 3/3 Minnesota Duluth, 2-1, at the United Center Thursday night. The Crimson concluded one of the greatest seasons in program history, reaching its first Frozen Four since 1994 after winning two NCAA Championship contests to go along with an Ivy title and ECAC Hockey Championship.
  • Aiken Earns NCAA Elite 90 Award

    Junior defenseman Thomas Aiken has been named the recipient of the Elite 90 Award for men’s hockey, as announced by the NCAA at the Frozen Four reception in Chicago Wednesday, April 5.
  • Fox, Kerfoot and Donato Receive Yearly Honors from The New England Hockey Writers

    Three members of the Harvard men’s hockey team were honored by the New England Hockey Writers Friday with year-end awards. Freshman Adam Fox received the Bob Monahan Award as the best defenseman, Ted Donato ’91 received the Clark Hodder Award for Division I Coach of the Year and senior Alexander Kerfoot joined Fox on the All-Star team as a forward.
  • 2017 NCAA Frozen Four Central

    The No. 2/2 Harvard men's hockey team will head west to Chicago for the 2017 Frozen Four at the United Center, April 6-8, after winning the NCAA East Regional in Providence last week. The Crimson will face No. 3/3 Minnesota-Duluth Thursday evening at 6 p.m. ET in the first semifinal game of the night.
  • No. 2/2 Men's Hockey Set for Frozen Four Clash with No. 3/3 Minnesota-Duluth April 6

    The No. 2/2 Harvard men's hockey team will head west to Chicago for the 2017 Frozen Four at the United Center, April 6-8, after winning the NCAA East Regional in Providence last week. The Crimson will face No. 3/3 Minnesota-Duluth Thursday evening at 6 p.m. ET in the first semifinal game of the night. The winner will advance to the finals Saturday evening at 8 p.m. ET, facing the winner of the No. 1/1 Denver vs. No. 12/4 Notre Dame matchup. Both semifinal games will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and the championship will be shown on ESPN.
  • Donato Named Finalist for Spencer Penrose Award Honoring CCM/AHCA Men’s Hockey Coach of the Year

    Ted Donato ’91, The Robert D. Ziff ’88 Head Coach for Harvard Men’s Ice Hockey, has been named a finalist for the Spence Penrose Award given to the CCM/AHCA Men’s Hockey Division I Coach of the Year.
  • No. 2/2 Men’s Hockey Secures Spot in Frozen Four with 3-2 Defeat of No. 15/15 Air Force

    The first-seeded Harvard men’s hockey team clinched a spot in the Frozen Four for the first time since 1994, taking down third-seeded Air Force, 3-2, in the East Regional final at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Saturday night. The Crimson will square off with Minnesota-Duluth in the Frozen Four on April 6.
  • Madsen, No. 2/2 Harvard Shut Out No. 13/13 Providence, 3-0, to Advance to NCAA East Regional Final

    Behind a career-high 41 saves from junior Merrick Madsen, first-seeded Harvard downed the fourth-seeded Providence, 3-0, in the East Regional semifinal at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on Friday evening. The Crimson extended its win streak to 15–straight games, matching the longest streak in program history from the 1988-89 season.
  • Madsen and Marino Sweep ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards

    Harvard junior Merrick Madsen has been named ECAC Hockey Player and Goaltender of the Week, while defenseman John Marino was tabbed the Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Saturday.

    The No. 2/2 Harvard men's hockey team is headed to its 24th NCAA Tournament this weekend, serving as the No. 1 seed in the East Region, and third-overall seed in the tournament. The Crimson will face the fourth-seed Providence Friars at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU with John Buccigross and Barry Melrose on the call.
