Men's Hockey Releases Action-Packed 2014-15 Schedule
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard men's ice hockey team has announced the release of its 2014-2015 schedule. The schedule features 30 games, including 13 home contests at the newly renovated Bright-Landry Hockey Center.
The Crimson, which finished last season with a 10-17-4 record, will be led by Ted Donato in his 10th season as head coach. For the first time since the 2010-11 season, Harvard will be led by co-captains in Max Everson and Kyle Criscuolo. Everson will look to anchor the defense once again, while Criscuolo will lead the attack. Also leading the attack will be Jimmy Vessey, who led the team in points last season.
The first faceoff of the 2014-15 season takes place November 1 at the renovated Bright-Landry Hockey Center against ECAC foe Dartmouth. The Crimson then head to New York for matchups against Rensselaer (Nov. 07) and 2014 National Champion Union (Nov. 08) before heading back to Boston for a matchup at Boston College (Nov. 11).
The team returns to ECAC play with home games against Brown (Nov.14) and will look to avenge Yale (Nov.15) for their season-ending defeat in the opening round of the ECAC Men's Hockey Championship.
Harvard hosts its last November game against Bentley on the 21st before heading out for a four-game road trip. The Crimson will make cross-town trips to Boston University (Nov. 25) and UMass-Lowell (Nov. 29) to close out the month.
December starts with trips to Princeton and Quinnipiac on the 5th and 6th, respectively. Harvard then returns to Bright-Landry to close out December with an exhibition against the Russian Red Stars (Dec. 28) and resumes ECAC play against Rensselaer (Dec. 30).
The New Year kicks off with the 2nd annual Rivalry on Ice against Yale (Jan. 10) at Madison Square Garden. The Crimson then return to ECAC play for five straight conference matchups. The Crimson will host Clarkson (Jan.16) and St. Lawrence (Jan.17) before heading back to New York for matchups against Cornell (Jan.23) and Colgate (Jan. 24). Harvard then closes out January against Union (Jan. 30).
The 63rd Beanpot Tournament opens with a matchup at Boston University (Feb 2). In between rounds, the Crimson head south to battle ECAC rival Yale (Feb. 06) and then await their opponent for the second round of the Beanpot (Feb. 09).
The Crimson close out the remainder of the season in ECAC play. Harvard returns home for matchups against Colgate (Feb. 13) and Cornell (Feb. 14). The Crimson make their final road trip with visits to St. Lawrence (Feb. 20) and Clarkson (Feb. 21). Quinnipiac and Princeton will be the final visitors to Bright-Landry to close out the season on Feb. 27 and 28.
