CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2012-13 Harvard men's hockey recruiting class is the best in ECAC Hockey, according to a release posted by College Hockey News Monday.
Harvard's class of 2016 is comprised of seven players and features five forwards, a defenseman and a goaltender. Headlining the incoming class is a pair of NHL draft pick forwards in Brian Hart and Jimmy Vesey. Hart, a second-round selection by the Tampa Bay Lightning, will join the Crimson after a standout career at Phillips Exeter Academy. Vesey, a third-round pick by the Nashville Predators, comes to Harvard after setting an Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) scoring record last season, totaling 91 points in just 45 games with the South Shore Kings.
Greg Gozzo, Brayden Jaw and Kyle Criscuolo round out the quintet of new forwards for the Crimson, and each boasts impressive credentials in their respective junior hockey careers. Defenseman Desmond Bergin will help shore up the Crimson blue line, and goalie Peter Traber gives Harvard added depth between the pipes.
