CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Fifteen members of the Harvard men’s hockey team have earned ECAC Hockey All-Academic honors for the 2010-11 season, the league announced Wednesday.
The Crimson’s list of honorees includes eight repeat winners, including four-time selections Michael Del Mauro and Kyle Richter. Del Mauro, a government concentrator from Watchung, N.J., and Richter, a Calgary, Alta., native concentrating in economics, graduated from Harvard last month.
Three juniors earned All-Academic selection for the third time: economics concentrator Ryan Grimshaw, neurobiology concentrator Eric Kroshus and sociology concentrator Colin Moore. Senior psychology concentrator Matt McCollem, junior sociology concentrator Rence Coassin and sophomore economics concentrator David Valek earned the honor for the second straight year.
Seven Harvard skaters garnered their first All-Academic nods: juniors Alex Killorn (government) and Daniel Moriarty (economics); sophomores Alex Fallstrom (economics) and Conor Morrison (sociology) and freshmen John Caldwell (undeclared), Danny Fick (undeclared) and Dan Ford (undeclared).
Players are eligible for the All-Academic team if they earn a cumulative grade-point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.
