CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-Freshman forward Louis Leblanc of the Harvard men's hockey team has been named to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Leblanc is the Crimson's leading scorer with 21 points. He scored all 11 of his goals and registered nine of his 10 assists in league play, leading league freshmen in goals and ranking third in the league in points among rookies. He tied for second in ECAC Hockey with three game-winning goals in league play.
A native of Kirkland, Que., and the Montreal Canadiens' first-round selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Leblanc was twice named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week. He ranks sixth nationally in freshman goal-scoring and 11th in point-scoring among rookies.
Leblanc was joined on the ECAC All-Rookie squad by Rensselaer forwards Jerry D'Amigo and Brandon Pirri, St. Lawrence defenseman George Hughes, Cornell defenseman Nick D'Agostino and Union goaltender Keith Kinkaid. He is the 24th Harvard player to be selected to the team, which was first named at the conclusion of the 1987-88 season. The Crimson's last ECAC All-Rookie player was current Harvard captain Alex Biega in 2006-07.
